Over the last few years, I have really loved our Christmas Eve's and this year was no different. We started the morning with our family gift exchange, which is easiest, my very favorite part of the day. Watching the kids open our gifts to them, reflect on the ones given in the past and the excitement of giving and watching everyone open one another's gifts is so special to me. There were so many meaningful moments, expressions, constant hugging, laughter and connection, that I can't get enough.
Sentimental gifts from us to the kids:
Carter: New York City snow globe
Addison: Her 11th frog prince and the exact turquoise bracelet she so desperately wanted while she was in Santa Fe, NM but hadn't earned any money for the trip.
Delaney: A James Avery charm of Oregon with 2018 engraved in the back.
Sibling gifts:
Carter gave Addison a soccer practice tool.
Carter gave Delaney a big fancy box of Godiva chocolates.
Addison gave Delaney a purple mermaid blanket.
Addison gave Carter $20 cash since he suddenly desperately wanted a new skateboard after donating his to Goodwill about 6 months ago.
Delaney gave Addison a sweet hand made letter, a small stuffed animal of her's that she knew Addison "really loved" and new fancy shin guards for soccer.
Delaney gave Carter a stand for his sax.
Then it was off to brunch. Bruce had invited the entire basketball team for fellowship together on Christmas Eve. Bruce made it incredibly special and meaningful for each and everyone of the boys.
Before we knew it, we were off to the incredibly packed and wonderful 3PM early CBC church service.
We came home and while we were waiting for all the family to arrive, we got everything ready for Santa's big visit! I like how Addison asked Santa for his signature on the milk mug!
