Addison's 1st Half of 5th Grade (Aug- Dec 2018)

The first week of school, Addison got to take part in the first pep rally of the year. Since Addison was part of the initial year of Lighthouse Team in 3rd grade, they had told us she would be the small group of 5th graders that would hold an advisory role, getting to meet regular lunch meeting with Principle Specia and other opportunities. We were also excited to find out that she would hold her normal responsibilities, as a Lighthouse Team Member and get to participate in all the regular opportunities she had come to love - like pep rally's and Grandparent's Day.

September 7, 2018 - Grandparent's Day, now called Generation Day. None of her grandparents could make it so she was ecstatic to get to volunteer the entire morning. At the end of last year, she said Grandparent's Day was her absolute favorite day to help with  Lighthouse because she absolutely loved walking all the grandparents across campus to their rooms and talk with them!

Here are a few things Addison had hanging in her classroom during Parent orientation.

Addison at patrols that Megan took while picking up the boys in September.

On October 1, her school started a campaign called "Hey Day." This is a proactive initiative headed by their counselor, Mrs. Magadance, to help students feel connected and included at our school. To celebrate National Bully Awareness month.  Addison was asked to portray the "bully" in the school video to help raise awareness.

Blake was up at school in early October as a WATCH DOG!

5th Grade School Pictures:

Red Ribbon Week fun dressing up every single day!

Lots more independent studying in 5th grade, especially for Social Studies and US History.

APEX Fun Run - her 6th and last year!

Fun times on the way to school with a flat tire!

Addison doing her thing on morning announcements. A couple of different times his semester, Addison's new principle, Mr. Chris Specia, has pulled Blake and I aside to share what an incredible leader Addison is around campus. He said he is in the library weekly for morning announcements  and watches her come up with ideas on the spot, for everyone in the mornings and confidently but kindly directs the scene, even when she is behind the scenes. He commented how fast she thinks, creative she is and what a leader she is.

And then, we got her Addison's last ever classroom Winter party!  Watching her totally in the moment with her friends during the saran wrap dice game was so much fun!
