Each week in December, Will surprised us with some super nice and equally meaningful family gifts. Each one of the 3 gifts had us spending a tremendous amount of time working together as a family and many times with our friends and neighbors. First, he surprised us with 10 gigantic oak log stumps to give us a comfortable and fun outdoor seating area to enjoy as a family and with our friends. Since he delivered them raw and unfinished, we spent many hours outside taking the bark off, sanding them and sealing them. We even found ourselves outside working on them on Christmas Day morning because we were so excited about them. Shortly after new years, all the handwork had paid off and they were gorgeous and ready to be enjoyed for years to come!
Then, he gave the kids buckets of supplies to make castings of animal tracks. He even left buckets for the Bureks, Perkins and Moakes!
Finally, he left us a pretty remarkable gift and one that made us really work together, as a family. It was a kit to do a family hand casting mold. The first time it didn't work out too well but we didn't give up and with careful planning and implementation, we were thrilled when it turnout beautifully!
The last time we saw him on Christmas Eve!
