Carter's 1st Half of 6th Grade (Aug - Dec 2018)

2nd day of school, dropping him off! All smiles.

Middle School is such a big change for us as parents, too. There aren't as many opportunities to be up at school with the kids so I find myself snapping quick little pictures during drop off and pick up, to remember my sweet boy that this age with his big Saxaphone.

In mid October, my sweet boy carrying Delaney in one afternoon after school pick up. Definitely a sign this sweet girl needs more sleep at night!

After the first 4-6 weeks of the middle school transition and missing those 2 half days on Fridays were past us and everything was made up, Carter has been excelling at balancing his full 8 classes each day, 30 minutes of saxophone practice a day, soccer 3-4 days a week, homework and even an occasional Wlydlife on a Tuesday night with Owen. We are super proud of him!

Science quickly became one of his favorite classes and the end of the earth layer project was fun to see all come together.

A rare glimpse inside his Spanish social studies classroom when he brought home a video of him interviewing a classmate, in Spanish. This was an exciting moment for this momma!

At the end of the first half of 6th grade, we couldn't be prouder of Carter and are thrilled with Lopez our big decision to keep him in the dual language program and in all Pre-AP classes and teachers he has. For various reasons, we have overseen Carter interact with nearly all of his teachers and have been impressed with their high standards and dedication to the children. We truly feel like Carter is excelling and in the appropriate place to be both challenged academically but also surrounded by the real world of public school.
