The day after Thanksgiving,we get intentional about our long standing family Christmas traditions. Nearly every day in December, we prepared for the season. Before we packed up the Thanksgiving stuff, Emma Burek, was blown away to see her name listed as something we were thankful for this year. It was a sweet moment that was documented, this year, on our poster board version of the "Gratitude Pumpkin," since we experienced the great pumpkin shortage in San Antonio in October!
Decorating the house and putting out both our nativity scenes, which includes reading the full story from the bible, as we put them out. Delaney was able to read it this year, for the first time. Although, life is a little bit busier in the evenings this time of year, we loved doing our 7th year of Meaningful Christmas Tree Advent Calendar, unpacking my Christmas Tree collection, hanging our Christmas stockings which means reflecting our our 2019 New Year's resolutions, lighting the Advent Candle Wreath on Sunday's, reading Christmas books, our family matching pajamas, Bethlehem Square in Burnett, TX, ringing the bell For The Salvation Army, CBC Christmas service, the Burek's Front Yard Live Nativity, baking cookies for Santa with Meme, Candy Cane search for Family Game Night, which Delaney easily won!
We all put out my Christmas Tree collection and the kid's gave me this year's tree, which they had found a hand carved one, while we were in Yellowstone.
