Day 3
Daylight savings had "sprung" forward at the most perfect time - vacation week! Everyone slept in until 9AM, unbothered by the regular New Orleans muted sirens of police and ambulances... even at 7AM in the morning. We loaded up the car and went off to explore some more of New Orleans, before leaving town for our 4 hour & 20 min drive to Rosemary Beach. We found ourselves walking down Bourbon Street mid morning on a Sunday and it was much quieter but still smelled the same! We ate at Beinet Cafe inside Musical Legends Park and had the most picturesque morning listening to a live Jazz band just 6 feet in front of us and dining on crawfish omelet, Cajun hash browns, French toast and of course, more beignets. I love the 10 adjectives that the kids wrote down to remember New Orleans!
We walked to the car just as the rain started lightly coming down and as we entered IH-10 East, the enormous and intense rain storm started and didn’t let up the entire 5 hours to Rosemary. We still embraced the fact that we were able to go through 4 states in this one drive and stopped at each of the state borders along the way, even in the rain!
After a very rough 4 hours driving at the same pace and direction as the intense storm front, the skies started opening up and sun peeked through, right as we entered Rosemary!
It seemed that we had reached paradise and jumped out of the car and hit the beach right as the sun was setting! It was stunning.
