Friday - Day 5
After breakfast and devo, we were off to Fish. It was nice to go spend time in another section of the river that we often drive by. Of course, before long, Addison was ready to explore and insisted on crossing the river and ultimately talked one of the counselors into jumping in with her and Ella.
After lunch, we had a little downtime and then all five of us headed to arts and crafts to do Paper Mache - one of my biggest parenting goals at this stage of life, is to introduce them to as many new experiences as possible and this one ended up being one of our very favorite arts and crafts one of the trip. Even Carter said how much he loved paper mache.
Blue Hole was hopping in the afternoon with all 25 families with music blasting. We all got in and felt the chill of the Headwaters the underwater spring fed clear water.
One of our favorite memories of the day was Blake and I taking Delaney down the narrow cliff walk to the "Blue Hole" bridge for her to see and cross, since she hadn't done the hike with us that morning. The confidence she had with the narrow bridge was yet again another eye opener of the growth she has shown in her personality in the last year. From there, we witnessed Carter catch "Steve." Such beauty every where you look.
4PM Addison met up with some of the girls and taught them the Justin Timberlake dance for the evening' s talent show while Delaney and I had a one-on-one ice cream date.
The Talent show was absolutely amazing. From the way it opened to the way it closed. Wow! What a night! We saw and felt the emotions of Carter when his blind folded rub cube show didn't go off as perfectly as he planned but we felt the love and support of the 25 families as they did everything in their power to support our sweet boy during the last act. The way the audience and counselors rushed to pick him up over their heads was one of the single most imprinted memories of the entire week in my mind, so I am sure it is forever marked in his memory.
Then it was time for the traditional milk and cookies dance party!
The last evening after we shut the Milk and Cookies dance party down, Carter, Blake and I spent close to an hour outside yet again with the Star Gazer tool he had received for Christmas. The sky was so clear and it was fun to confirm all our navigation and stars with the ipad tool. We were able to clearly see Jupiter and Saturn while the girls got comfy in bed after showers and Delaney decided to sleep with Addison in the top bunk for the first time. (There are so many amazing videos of this night on our annual Family 2017 movie.)
Favorite Memories of the Day - in blue notebook from each family member.
