TUESDAY - Day 2
We are starting to sleep in more and more and I am loving it. I am also loving my quiet time in the mornings and taking our time getting to breakfast, something we don't normally get to do in the real world. Both nights, surprisingly, Delaney has slept all night in her own bed.
After breakfast and devotion time, the girls and I went to arts and crafts top make a Dream Catcher and the boys went to archery. Carter said archery had really nice targets and they learned all the "commands" for archery.
It was so nice having 20 home-made meals made for us and cleaned up after during our 7 days at Headwaters.
After lunch - Delaney and I came back to the room and hung in the hammock and ate popcorn and just relaxed. I almost napped.
Then Carter, Addie and I along with Mike and Ella, went on the Goliath Swing over at Singing Hills. Addie went first with Amy Holmes and her daughter, Hadley while Carter swung with Mike and Ella. We have lots of fun videos! Since I happened to wait until the end, Carter and Addie got to go with me again on the big swing over the Frio River. I had no nervices before hand and confidently pulled the rope to release us but then my stomach went up into my throat during the initial drop.
The kids continued their focus on finding the "bad guy" at camp. It was fun watch and listen to them compiling everything they had heard and seen throughout the day. This afternoon we took family pictures by the river before heading to play in the river and heading down to Blue Hole to jump from the cliffs with The Perkins.
After dinner, Tuesday night's round-up with extra fun because Blake and Delaney were chosen to compete in a "Father-Daughter Bench Press Contest." Surprisingly, even with all the chaos, Delaney did great and she didn't freak out like I thought she may. The icing on the cake was that they won, perhaps with the sudden out-loud counting of Amy Holmes.
During family time, we went around and talked about our favorite memories of that day:
- Blake's was being all together kayaking and paddle boarding to the blue hole and jumping in from the cliffs.
- Delaney's favorite part was "riding my scooter!"
- Carter said, "The Goliath swing! I like being so high and archery was pretty fun, too!"
- Addison said, "The Goliath swing was my favorite, it felt scary but it was fun! Actually, it's was fun because it was scary! Oh and the slip and slide party!"
- Megan's favorite was the time spent one-on-one with Delaney after lunch, eating popcorn, playing cards and laying in the hammock on the back porch.
While I relaxed with Delaney, the kids and Blake went out for the late night activity on the slip and slide. The story I heard the most about was the dad's jumping on the gigantic blow up swans on the slip and slide!
Wow. What a day, it seems hard to imagine doing that much fun stuff in one day.
