Where Where You For The Solar Eclipse?

The last total solar eclipse was nearly 38 years ago, before Megan was even born and Blake had just celebrated his 1st birthday. It was viewed from contiguous United States was on Feb. 26, 1979 and it's path passed through the northwestern U.S. states. Today, August 21, 2017, the five of us were mostly separated around the historical lunch time but we each had our own memories. Carter and Addison were with Meme at FIESTA TEXAS. Blake had gotten up early to make them viewing boxes to take with them, Delaney was at school and while she probably learned the most about it, her school made the decision to keep the kids inside for the eclipse so they didn't have a bunch of 4 year olds potentially looking up into the sun and burning their retinas. Blake was in an office parking lot using his phone to see the phenomenon and I was at one of my big Dermatology clinics where one of my doctor's came through with  glasses for me to see the amazing event.

After this August 2017 total solar eclipse, the next annular solar eclipse that can be seen in the continental United States will be on October 14, 2023 which will be visible from Northern California to Florida. Following this, we will have a total solar eclipse on April 8, 2024 visible from Texas to Maine. We will be prepared in April 2024. It's crazy to think we will have 11, 16 and 17 years, by then!
