On a warm Saturday morning in mid August, I was just waking up and Delaney came running in saying, "Mom! I want to sell lemonade with my stand!" It sounded like a perfect idea so we got to work and called up the Perkins to join the fun. We got out there the busiest corner of our neighborhood around lunch time and it was very steamy but the kids were super motivated. The Perkins had the idea of doing donations and since Carter and Addison had just spent a week at the Humane Society, they thought it would be cool to donate the money to them, since they learned that it's about $35/day to house a animal with all costs taken into account. We had some big donors and within a couple of hours, they had raised $132.54. Wow! The following Friday, we took the donations to the Humane Society of San Antonio and got to explore the amazing facility our city has. While they were at camp the previous week, Addison had decorated plastic dog cones to sell in the store and was so excited when she got to witness someone buying her cone. It was a fun and great experience for us all.
