Some of our absolute favorite weekends this Summer were in Port Aransas. Getting to experience the beach each month of the Summer was absolutely ideal. Our new favorite tradition is building a fire and grilling on the beach. The first night's evening under the full moon, cooking hotdogs and marshmallows and chasing crabs by flashlights was hard to beat.
*This trip was just 3 weeks before one of the most catastrophic Category 4 hurricanes in history - "Harvey" - directly hit Port Aransas with sustained 131 mph winds, on August 25, 2017. In my 30 years of very regularly vacationing in Port Aransas, we have never experienced this type of destruction. I know that the next time we are in our beloved beach town, it will look very different and makes me even more happy that we took time to stop and take pictures in town.
