New Year's Eve In The Snow

Our first morning was filled with excitement as we prepared for the first run. Carter was signed up for a semi private full day of ski school and Addie was going to spend an hour or so with Blake on the bunny slopes.

Everything was great until we went to put on Addie's ski boots and they would not go on! This is why I usually believe in paying the big bucks for ski school at this age but since Addie was still only four and I wasn't skiing, we decided to take her out for an hour or two here and there.
Switching out skis
Needless to say, after we walked 3 blocks to get boots switched out in the bitter cold, she was done and by 10AM and was ready to go inside and drink hot chocolate. It was nice not feeling the pressure to make her ski that first day and we quickly warmed up in the nearby condo while Blake and Carter were out in the fresh powder.
After we warmed up, we bundled up yet again to go play in the fresh powder just 10 feet outside our front door.
 Ring - around - the - rosies!
 Lots of snow angels!
Just loving stomping and playing in the snow!
Our New Year's Festivities started when the men got home from a super long and successful day of skiing and we all hit the hot tub!
The girls made brownies to help celebrate our 8:30PM New Years Eve.
It was a very low key and relaxing night filled with LOTS of games of Crazy Eight and War!
We were snuggled up in bed while it was negative two degrees outside and rang in the New Year one last time as a family of four. It was perfection.
