COVID-19 Summer - Random Moments June, July & August (Kids ages 13.5, 12 & 7)

Like most Summers, we were on the go, traveling close and far, the exact same amount of time, as previous Summers. However, the weeks that we were home were 100% different than any other Summer. Previous Summers included equally early mornings for everyone and leaving, out the door by 7:30AM to get across town, to amazing camps. This year, while we willing to take risks with family travel, we weren't as willing to take risks sending kids to Summer camps, where we didn't have control and knowledge of who they were around and the risks that presented or have realistic confidence or really expectations that kids could really remember to social distance, wear masks or do a good job washing their hands. Really, we didn't want to risk all our family's exciting Summer plans. So, that meant the Brown's having the Summer of 2020 - a Summer we absolutely loved and will not soon forget! And hopefully a Summer we don't really want to replicate again, in some ways.

When we were home, the average day at home went with the kids naturally up by 7:30 AM, with Addison snoozing a little longer. They each had responsibilities (work) to do each day but they learned the quicker they got it done, the quicker the fun began when the first door bell rang each day. It was a great life lesson for this Summer! They stayed on a great sleeping schedule, getting consistent  rest, stayed sharpening the sword with math and reading and had responsibilities to keep the house running. But there was non-stop bouncing between 4 houses all Summer - The Moake's, The Gonzales, The Burek's and ours. It was a 1980's Summer, for sure, just coming in when they were hungry and us parents just feeding whoever was at the house.

^^ Totally disgusting but a memory of the first COVID-19 test that Blake's company would regular send Blake since we getting to go back for in-person customer visits on July 6, 2020. It was negative! ^^
