Day 3 - Sunday
Blake and I woke up early excited for a 11 mile run in the crisp and cold air!
Carter hiked up on his own to Sawmill Reservoir, partially up Peak 9 to fish. Later Blake and I hiked up to join him while the girls spent a couple of hours in the forest area outside the condo "building a hideout."
We had said good bye to YaYa and Grandpa so they could get home and get ready for their next vacation the following week.
Late afternoon we headed out to Blue Lakes for a little hike, a place that we had never been. It was significant to us since it where the Blue River begins, which is the same river that flows right out sideour condo. And remarkably, on the way, we saw a huge moose along Highway 9. We had been to Yellowstone, in search of a moose with no success last Summer and we saw one 3 miles from our Breckenridge Condo.
Blue Lakes was a cool place where you felt like you were in a bowl surrounded by super steep mountains 360 degrees around. We hiked up on the dam to the top lake and just relaxed while Carter and Addie fished. The water was icy cold. On the way to the lower lake, we saw a big mountain goat and baby walking next to our car. We spent an hour at the lower lake where Carter caught his first cut throat trout of the trip. It was so exciting. Delaney tried fishing and it was hysterical watching her cast. It was a sweet moment when Carter taught Addison how to fly fish.
Our daily pool time! It was so weird having to make reservations for the pool but we appreciated how safe we felt and enjoyed soaking in the hot tub every day.
^^ The same room that me and my friends used to sleep in the same condo 28 years ago when I was Addison's exact age. ^^
