What an incredible morning Addison had as Sacagawea for her 5th Grade Living Museum Project. She had worked diligently on this project for about 5 full weeks and we were so proud of how she completely immersed herself in finding out everything she could about Sacagawea.
We were so lucky when Meme decided to come to visit the weekend prior to the big presentation and together, they spent well over 12 hours designing, picking out materials and sewing this Indian dress and hand making all of the accessories, including the headband, earrings, beaded belt and leather arm bands. It was quite impressive.
In the middle of the night, before the presentation, Addison woke up extremely ill with a horrible stomach bug. She was in so much pain however her main concern at 1:30AM was this presentation the following day. We took her to school for this 2 hour presentation and she was back home and fast asleep by 10:30AM for the rest of the day. We weren't expecting much due to her being so ill but Addison was totally in her element and dug so deep to repeat her presentation almost non-stop for 2 full hours. She did here 3-4 minute presentation at least 30 times that morning. She looked so pale to Blake and I but each and every time someone came running asking her to do her show, she did it with such passion, energy and it was a complete one woman show. We were so proud of our sweet and strong Indian and how strong she was.... just like the real life Sacagawea.
