Carter's Top 10 List: 10 Years Old!

You are a decade old and the reason I started doing these TOP TEN lists 10 years ago! If we were to hit "pause" in your life, right now... these are what we would see...

10.  Your Scooter and working on "jumps!" I remember when you came to me and asked to view YouTube so you could learn how to do some tricks on your scooter. So anytime you are waiting for us to load up in the car, this is what we can find you doing.

9.  Sonido, Music and your recorder - Your memory has helped you become quite the musician. You started loving the piano and self taught youself many songs and then you made your elementary school's percussion group - SONIDO. You absolutely love all the after school practices and time spent practicing. Recently, you just got a recorder and self taught yourself "Happy Birthday!"

8. Monopoly & books about facts, cool and weird facts like National Geographic Kids 5000 Awesome Facts and National Geographic Kids Magazine - Anytime you have downtime in your room or you are waiting for us to come tuck you in, you love reading through these books and telling us fun and cool facts as we say goodnight!

7.  Cristiano Rololdo - Your favorite soccer player who plays for Spanish Real Madrid and his native Portugal National team. When I ask you, "Why do you like him?" you say, "he is really good soccer skills, shooting and his name starts with a "C" just like mine, and my number is #7, like his, he's right footed, like me and he is 2nd best soccer player in the world!"

6. Exploring outside & building and working on your hideout outside - You love geocaching. Consistently for 6 months now, you and your sister have loved spending time outside each weekend slowly adding to your "Brown Hideout." It all started with the dog house and has slowly evolved to have stumps for sitting, shelfs and baskets for everything you find in nature, hooks on trees for bags, a table, rock wall, a sturdy bridge and even a new fancy sign!

5. Watching your favorite shows - America's Funniest Home Videos, Planet Earth and your recent favorite - painting shows.

4. Your sisters - It is true, even at 10, you want your sister's to be with you whenever possible. Yes, you will go outside to shoot soccer balls, but I notice how you come in to see if Addie wants to come out to play with you. You are up for helping with either of them, anytime we ask. You were born to be a big brother and still excel at it. You offer to help get Delaney dressed, do her hair in the mornings and play with her anytime she wants. You are A.M.A.Z.I.N.G.

3. Being With Your Family - I really am soaking this one in but I can confidently say that you love being with doing anything. You are always up for anything and love just helping us around the house still. Watching survivor together, game nights or just out exploring San Antonio... you are all in and never complain.

2. Basketball - I am pretty sure that this one, along with your sisters are the only 2 that have made your Top 10 list for the 10 years. If we ask you today, what your favorite sport is, it's still basketball. Just recently you helped dad paint basketball lines on the driveway.

1. Soccer - Although basketball may be your favorite, it is soccer that you spend the majority of your time and focus on at 10 years old. Your are currently playing at least 5 days a week, sometimes 6 if there are Sunday games. You recently started doing Friday evening small group practices to get ready for the upcoming April FC tryouts. We love the group of boys you play with and have enjoyed getting to know their families more and more. So no matter, if you stay with Classics or move on to FC, we are excited for your soccer future.
