This is our 4th year of doing our "Meaningful Christmas" Tree and definitely one of our favorite Advent countdowns to Christmas. The other way that we count the days of December is our 7+ year tradition of reading Christmas books each night in December. Our Christmas library has grown to over 35 books and we all got really into it this year! The weekend after Thanksgiving is filed with decorating the house and watching the three of them, this year, melted my heart. Aunt Danielle led us with our tradition of baking cookies and all the kids definitely ate more batter before they were cooked! Selecting children from the Angel Tree is always a highlight of the year, decorating ginger bread houses, visiting Windcrest to look at Christmas lights, attending our dear friend's Christmas cookie exchange and celebrating Will Ferrel's arrival each morning is definitely one of our many favorite traditions. We also crammed in tons of famous Christmas movies curled up in bed or by the fire! Baking our "Happy Birthday Jesus" cake and our Christmas Morning casserole on Christmas Eve round out our favorite annual traditions to prepare for Christmas Eve and Day.
