Spring Break: Day 3 - Joshua Tree National Park

The moms got the boys today!!!

This was the extent of our Joshua Tree planning, the 40 minute drive to the park and thank goodness I did it before we lost all cell phone signal!

First stop was Hidden Valley Trail and it was definitely one of our favorites. The weather was stunning and there were SO many rocks to climb. The space-like rock formations were kid's dreams to play on and scramble up and down. We even found a little cave to explore. We had lunch here and just really took our sweet, sweet time.

Our second stop was Keys Point Overlook to see the Coachella Valley, the only place you can see actually the San Andreas Fault Line. We could even see the Salton Sea.

Then, it was off to see Skull Rock. This was a hysterical stop because we kept thinking we had found it, but then realized it was right next to the road. It was super fun to just explore with the kids.

Then, we were off to our favorite stop of the day - Arch Rock. This was a cool structure but is was equally as cool of an afternoon just hanging out and having fun together. The adults just parked it and let the kids explore. Now that the youngest is 7 years old, we let them explore within an eye's sight and it left for relaxation for the parents in very cool surroundings. It was a win-win.

Parenting from afar.

Our last stop was to the most dangerous garden on earth, the Cholla Cactus Garden. We had watched some YouTube Videos about this place and we were confident that we could prevail... It even had a first aid kit and players chained the the entrance. These cacti literally jump out at you if you get to close. This last stop made for memories that we won't soon forget and some great science lessons. My favorite mix of family vacation.

I don't know how it all happened, but suddenly Addison had thick thorns in her tennis show that had gone through the shoe and into her foot. That

Our baby boys looked so big, fast asleep, after a big day!
