The kids got new trunks for their big camp, finally! We had been savings stickers from all the places we had visited for over 2 years. The excitement was high as we checked them all out and got ready.
It was so nice to be completely packed a couple of days early and we truly enjoyed Saturday afternoon and all day Sunday before packing up to heading to the Frio River and to drop the kids off for their first ever 2 weeks LLYC Camp. Both kids are together at Singing Hills, this first year. Even though, they didn't know a sole, surprisingly, there were no tears or sadness from any of us. Just excitement. Addison was in the cabin Delta Babe and Carter was in Zion. Both Carter and Addison got their wish of a top bunk, which is randomly assigned before you get there. The most difficult part was bungeeing up the box fans above their heads since there is not AC in the cabins. I absolutely love this "natural" feel of camp when you are 10 and 11 years old. The camp felt small and cozy, only having 4 cabins of boys and 4 cabins of girls with less than 112 campers. This gave us such a calm and confidence about it. It didn't hurt with everyone having been there the 2 previous years for Family Camp and the confidence I've had in the camp since I visited that couple of years 28 years ago.

Serious Lice checks were mandated, which I loved! |
Before we left, we them each with new hats and 2 large boxes of Crave Cereal and 20 ziplock to share with their new bunkmates. We heard Crave cereal is a camp tradition!
Now, it was time for "Camp Delaney!"
