Several weeks ago, Carter got asked as an incoming 6th grader, to join the teen worship team and help lead Kids Church periodically this Summer. Committing to it, I totally assumed that there was going to be several other incoming 6th graders but when we arrived for the first rehearsal Saturday afternoon, he was by far the only young one there. When we came back an hour later for church and saw him up there on stage in what used to be such an uncomfortable environment for him, my eyes filled with tears of joy. It really was one of those proud moments, where you witness growth in your child in an area completely outside their comfort zone and reinforced how much energy we put in, as parents, to helping grow well rounded kids. We were filled with so much happiness that we felt like we wanted to reward him, so impromptuly booked tickets to The Incredibles 2, since it had just come out that day prior. It was a super fun night and we won't soon forget Baby Jack jack and the Racoon!
