Delaney had nearly 3 weeks of being an old child in the month of June. We didn't do anything big, but focused on doing the little things, that in our elevated busyness of life, get pushed to the side. Simple things like going to the library, reading books one-on-one, lots of quality mom and Delaney time and just dad and Delaney one-on-one time, dance parties, letting her do my hair every night, just stopping to hug her and not be in a rush when she was sad, going on long walks with Tiger, and impromptu play dates at Asher's, which turn into late afternoon playdates with Asher at our house, playing board games, riding bikes, having the Metcalfs over to swim in the late Summer evenings, just sitting petting Tiger and talking (Delaney loves to talk at 5 years old.) She enjoyed have a sleepover with Caroline, her favorite steak fajita dinner on the patio, a 24 hour trip to the lake with daddy, more playdates with Asher, reading in bed while we brush her hair, a trip to Julian Gold with Yaya, Dominion Burger Night with the family, getting to choose her very favorite special cereal to eat, a shaving cream party with Asher and Easton, a play date with Sella and on her final night, before Carter and Addison returned from LLYC, instead of "watching" her favorite show - Kids Baking Championship, Daddy had the great idea of getting to be the star and actually getting to make anything she wanted! She had it ready to serve Carter and Addison when they got home the following day.
