Addie & Delaney

What does Addie think of Delaney?

That has been the big question. The first week we had Delaney, Addie was only somewhat interested in her new little sister. She wanted to hold her a couple of times but quickly realized even 7 1/2 pounds was kind of heavy. Honestly, I was a little worried at how uninterested Addie was but then Blake reminded me that she isn't acting out, in fact her behavior has been better than ever and most importantly, she is still 100% our confident little Addie. By the end of the week, she was bringing home artwork for the baby from school every single day and I realized that this was Addie's way of loving the baby when she was this timy. As the second and third weeks have passed, she is showing more and more interest in the baby and stops by to say hi to her every now and then. Addie is real proud of the fact that Delaney has curly hair when her hair is wet and straight hair when it's dry, she says, "it's the opposite of my hair!" For now until Delaney can actually interact with Addie, Addie is much more focused on her art, Smokey and of course, her hair!
Fast Forward to now when Delaney is almost five weeks old.... and we have seen a big change in Addie towards Delaney. Although she still has no desire to hold her, she is much more interested in her and likes to say hello, "shhhh" her if she is starting to cry, show her how to do "tummy time," kiss her head and just be all around, is more into her.
