My first impressions of the island was it was a lot bigger than I had thought. I had done zero research for this vacation as can be verified by the fact that I found out we were going to HHI and not Myrtle Beach, North Carolina, less than 48 hours prior to our departure!!! See what happens when you let the men plan the whole vacation!!! Also, was it a coincidence that the three guys were left in charge of planning the trip and we landed 10 miles away from the PGA Championship Tournament major site that is being played the same time we are there? Hmmmm......
Scott had rented the whole family bikes for the week, at "Pedals," and they were delivered right when we pulled up the first night. Those bikes were defintley a big hit during the trip!
Day 2:
We hit the beach mid morning and Carter's highlight was riding his bike for an hour in the water. The sand was so compact and just perfect for this. This is where you could find him for an hour every single day.
We explored a small marina and the kids got to see a lot of crab cages.
The Lays...
Our family was in full vacation mode... All of us taking in long naps, nearly everyday. We came home very well rested, for sure! When we weren't out exploring the beautiful island, this is where you could find us all week...
For dinner, we were told about this awsome resturant called Skull Creek Boathouse and to get there early. We followed instructions and even getting there near 5:30, there was over an hour wait, so we opted to head next door to a little marina place on the water called.. Hudson's Seafood On The Dock. It was good but I am still dying to know what the Boathouse was all about!!!
I love the first picture of Carter on the bike and your hair looks awesome in the last picture! :) Hope we are able to catch up tomorrow!!
