The weekend after 4th of July was our big trip for the fourteen of us (Blake's side of the family) to hit the beach! Sweet Diane has been generous the last two years to rent an incredible beach house. This year, we decided to give up "newness" and get the absolute closest living quarters on the entire Mustang Island. I am 99.99% sure in my twenty-eight years of going down there regularly that we achieved that goal! It was incredible.

I kept saying that it felt like we were somewhere else other than Port A, to be a stone's throw from our kitchen to the actual beach. It made a beach trip with seven kids nine and under so much easier and much more enjoyable!

We started our trip with a visit to The Texas State Aquarium. After our very first visit last summer, we knew we wanted to take all the family to it.

Then it was off to the ferry to get to the actual island.

One of the big games and activities this year, was turning the sea weed into a huge positive by learning from other beach natives all the treasures that are hidden in those large clumps of sea-weed.

We found amazing looking feathery fish, thousands of tiny, quick crabs, among other stuff. It became all of our obsession the four days we were there.
