Day 4: We rode our bikes the mile and a half to the entrance of "Sea Pines," a private part of Hilton Head Island that has it's own 600 acres of natural preserve filled with freshwater wetlands that has historically been used to grow rice.
So much to explore, it felt like we were in a different part of the world, all by ourselves this early Tuesday morning.
We loved the long Rice Field Boardwalk, a narrow bridge over the wetlands where Blake and Carter were on the lookout for alligators.
Blake and Carter found one and Addie was trying to locateit once it swam under the bridge.
The trees and the silence were breathtaking.
At four years old, Addie loved the lush vegetation.
Once we made it through "Vanishing Swamp," and to "Fish Island," the kids were excited to see a real big alligator off the dock where many of kids were learning to fish. The alligator was playing with the turtles as they were both fighting over the bait on the fishing lines. The daily rain shower didn't even slow us town from our big adventures.
