Since our weekends at the lake, Carter has turned into quite the patient and motivated fisherman. Blake was SO EXCITED to take him fishing off the beach a couple of early mornings and their very first morning they caught a couple of fish, including a small SHARK!!! When Addie and I walked up, after our early morning bike ride, this was Carter telling me the news....

The reasons I loved this vacation was that we had time to take the time to do little things I always think about wanting to do at home like taking kids by big pet store to see animals...
After our fishing highlight, we all decided to make a day trip to Savannah, Georgia, the 6th new state for the kids (about 45 minutes away.) It was crazy to look down while crossing the South Carolina/Georgia state border over the Savannah River and see large alligators swimming across it.
Once we got there, we decided the best way to see the historic town was to take a a trolley tour of Savannah, who would have known how much history was in one town.
The kids were amazing. It was interesting to learn about the live oak trees with the Spanish Moss, which is not a moss at all, instead a air born plant related to the pineapple. This stuff was EVERYWHERE in Hilton Head and Savannah.
We ate at a famous place from the movie In The Garden Of Good And Rvil, Clary's.
It was a good and laid back casual place perfect for the kids.
