The week leading up to July 4th, we went to the lake for 9 days. There was so much skiing, fishing, exploring and time with friends and family. We made and ate gourmet meals nearly every night, even learning how to sauté shishito peppers that we had grown from seed at the lake garden. We even cooled Carter's 3 bass he caught one day and Yaya showed us her impressive deboning skills. We took a day trips a couple of the days, exploring Longhorn Cavern and learning it's history and then spending a fun day at Colorado Bend State Park and finally seeing Gorman Falls, which did make it feel like we were in a tropical rain forest. We loved exploring the dozens of small clear pools that were connected by little water falls.
