Delaney's First Ever Classics Soccer Season (Academy Level) 4 v. 4 with Coach Heather Boss

The big day had come and it was 100 degrees out at 5:15PM, when the practice started but Delaney didn't complain at all! After hundreds of trips and hours spent at the Classics soccer fields, watching her brother and sister, it was HER time!

August 17, 2019 - Scrimmages

The August games were HOT and Delaney was working on her endurance for the first several weeks of practice.

In early September, it was still hot. But the girls were making steady progress and it was really remarkable to watch.

September 21 weekend.

September 28 - Baby Stella, Aunt Erin and Meme were in town to watch Delaney's game! Delaney had her very first goal although they called it back because she stepped inside the semicircle area around the goal. We still celebrated it as a victory, especially in this brutal heat!

October 5 - Delaney played 2 games back to back in 95 degree heat versus Alamo City. The girls seem to all be a year older - 2012's and beat our girls both games pretty badly. It was great to see Addison out there helping coach along side Coach Heather both games.

October 12  - finally a real cold front. Delaney played at Schertz and had her first real goal that wasn't  called back! This was the first game vs. Arsenal that they were more evenly matched in size and age. There were no subs and all four of them - Delaney, Sopia, Ellianna and Noel played so well. It is really amazing to see how far they have come since late August.

October 19 - It was a game in Boerne and lunch with Aunt Danielle and Lolli.

October 26 was a big day with a normal game and the all evening Boo-fest! It was an absolutely gorgeous night and so much fun. Delaney is regularly scoring goals now in games.

5 and 6 year old soccer - tying shoes in the middle of the game!

It got frigid cold in late October and Delaney was the only one that showed up for practice so she had a 1 on 1 with Coach Heather. Heather says Delaney is mainly kicking with her left foot, although she is right handed!

In late October and much of November, the weather stayed extremely cold. A few practices were canceled and even the last games got moved to November 16. But the weather was gorgeous and Delaney commented what beautiful soccer weather it was and how much fun she had all season long. Meme came in for her last game and it was awesome to see how far they had come. A team that they had lost to BIG time in the first couple of weeks of the season, today they tied 1-1.

Practice continued through December 5, but since they don't have an age group for Classics Winter Blast, they don't have anymore games. What a great season with so much development seen in just 3 months. She worked on her endurance and truly seems to love the game. She never complained about practices or going to games. However, she did enjoy it so much more when it finally started cooling down.
