We woke up Gulpha Gorge RV Park and really didn't have a plan, so we crossed the creek and found the Gulpha Gorge steep trail and decided to go and enjoy the Ouachita National Forest with a hike in the fall foliage. Afterwards, we finally had the first experience of emptying the septic tank without any drama, thank goodness.
As we drove through Hot Springs one last time, we stoped in front of the administration building and filled our mugs with authentic straight from the spring, Hot Springs water and made hot chocolate. The kid's were sure to say that the special water made the best hot chocolate they had ever had. I will say the temperature was pretty ideal. We mailed our Christmas cards and headed south, towards Wylie. But first, we had to make a quick stop in Hope, Arkansas to tour President Bill Clinton's childhood home. We learned a tremendous amount about the way he was raised by a single mom and his grandparents when he was born, since his father had tied in a car accident before he was born. It was enlightening to learn about the way he was raised, in a very modest and almost poor environment. Although his presidency was filled with controversy, his story of how he fought the odds and became President of the United States, is inspirational to all.
After a wonderful 24 hours at Chris and Heather's for Thanksgiving, we loaded up around 3PM on Thanksgiving Day and got home around 8PM. It had been a wonderful trip filled with simple and wonderful moments.
