Carter & Addison Were Baptized!

In early December 2018, Carter came to us and asked to be baptized. This is a decision that we have been patiently waiting for him to make in his own time and are elated that God had laid it on his heart! We moved forward on getting everything set up for his January 2019 baptism during main church. We purposefully didn't tell Addison about it as we didn't want it to influence her. Then, about a week later, Addison came up to us after CBC’s big mid December Christmas service and asked to be baptized, as well. What was interesting is she had no idea that Carter had already asked us a couple of weeks prior, to our knowledge. So, they both are getting to do it together which will be super special. What’s was even more memorable, is their Uncle Sean Metcalf will be baptized them and they were surrounded by 40 friends and family during the baptism and for dinner afterwards.

Since both Carter and Addison had previously, out-loud, accepted Jesus into their heart, we wanted them to know that deciding to be baptized is just a way to tell everyone that you believe. They know there isn't anything special in the CBC water that washes away their sin, but it's in trusting in Jesus that washes away their sin. They know that baptism, like a wedding ring, is just the symbol in the most important personal decision of their entire lives. They know that "good" people don't go to Heaven, rather "saved" people do. We hope that Carter and Addison and one day in the future, Delaney, will always know it's not about words or the action of getting baptized, it's about their heart.

After a prayer, it was Carter's turn first.

And then it was Addison's special moment.

Carter and Addison had 40 of their closet family and friends cheering them on and celebrating with them! Most are pictured below including the Quick's, Gonzales, YaYa and Grandpa, The Perkins, Meme Diane and the Metcalfs. We missed The Burek's and the Moake's along with the Babiarz and Kurrykendal's, who were waiting for us at dinner!
