Addison's 9th Birthday - Carter's Gift of a Scavenger Hunt

Addison's 9th birthday fell on a Saturday morning. It was the day we had planned to have Carter's soccer team over for the end of the season party and since Addison loves playing soccer and playing eye to eye with the older boys, we knew it would be a party she loved just as much!

Carter worked for 4 hours the night before to design Addison an extensive Birthday Scavenger Hunt with 9 gifts specifically for Addison to find both inside and outside the house. The hunt took well over an hour and was the perfect start to her birthday morning.

(We have compiled a 10 minutes video of scavenger hunt highlights to look back on.)

It all started with her traditional breakfast of choice (Cinnamon rolls with mini chocolate chips on the inside) and then we all went to her room to "help her make her bed." Under her bed, next to her favorite stuffed animal, is where she found her first gift and fun rhyming clue that resulted in her digging deep in the dog food bin!

The scavenger hunt that Carter designed and implemented was honestly one of the most special things I have ever witnessed. The thought, time and love that he put into it's design and execution was the best gift imaginable. The experience he gave, not only Addison, but our whole family brought both chills and tears to my eyes. He adores his sisters and loves doing things to make them happy. Even small touches like an origami birthday hat wrapped with the final gift... a fidget spinner!
