Packing Up & Saying Goodbye to our Beloved Buroak Ridge Home.

The serious preparation to move out of Buroak Ridge really started in February 2016 when we had Brigitte Perkins come over and give us some recommendations. We decided to re-textured and paint the master bathroom, took down Carter's large bunk bed in the small front room, neutralized the paint in Addison's hot pink room, Carter's light blue plaid room, and the kids' bathroom's bright turquoise walls were painted an almost white. We replaced a small bathroom window with a crack and started really packing up closets to show an airy feel. We also replaced the carpet up the stairs, in the game room and the 2 bedrooms, since we had never replaced the carpet in 12 years.

One of the great things about having time in the build process was being able to proactively go through 12 years of stuff and get rid of everything we didn't want to take to our new home. We also packed forward thinking, and put items into boxes where they would be in the new home. In late February, we also rented a small storage room and started removing oversized furniture from the house to get ready for the photographer.

The other benefits of knowing that we were moving 2 years before we actually did was being able to sell stuff. I probably made $3,000 in selling stuff in the last year.

In early March, the home improvement projects were in full swing so that we would get very top dollar for the house.

Even March 22, 2016, the two weeks before before we had even listed the house, this the amount of packing that was being done! We were serious.
The week prior to the actual June 4, 2017 move date was absolute craziness.

Our last Memorial Day weekend at Buraok Ridge.
