Delaney: 2 Months

On May 8, 2013, you turned 2 months old and were 23 inches long and weighed in at 11 pounds & 11 ounces, almost two whole bounds less than Addie at this same age! I love this age because you still like me to hold you horizontal in my arms and from experience I know you soon will be wanting to sit up and see the world. Since I can remember, I've had to wake you up after four or five hours at night to feed you since I'm nursing and I still get excited each and every time I open the closet door (yes, you are still in our master closet just steps away from me) and get to wake you up in your swaddle while you arch your back and give a baby stretch. I love cuddling with you for a minute before I change your diaper and nurse you. I still can't stop kissing you and love the sounds you make when you are sleeping next to me for a nap... the lip smacks, your heavy nose breathing and the little baby grunts bring a smile to my face. At two months old, one of my favorite things is the eye contact you make with me all the time... you follow me everywhere I go and I can't stop staring at your big gorgeous blue eyes either. Right at two months, we had a little issue with nursing as I didn't think I was making enough for you in the evenings and started supplementing an ounce or two for a couple of days. I decided to give it one more strong go with no supplementing and we powered through it. At this age, you really like to cluster feed in the late afternoons/evenings, sometimes eating every 90 minutes. Looking back three weeks later, the nursing is going better than I could have ever have imagined and I am glad I didn't give it up. You are holding your neck up really well and you definitely are learning your name as I have to call it out a lot while you nurse as you love to take cat naps as soon as you start eating. We joke and say there is baby Ambien in my milk. You love to grab my hair since it is the longest it has ever been since I was 7 years old. Your 0-3 months clothes are already fitting tight. I still can't get enough of you Delaney and it probably helps that you still sleep like a rock star every single night leaving me very well rested for having a 2 month old and for that, I thank you from the bottom of my heart!
