Addie's TOP 10 at 5 years old!

It's Addie's 5th Birthday today!

This has been a long tradition in our home dating back to Carter's 2nd birthday. I look forward to the time each year it takes to decide on the important items that make this list because it makes me reflect on who Addie is right this moment.....

#10: Drawing/Writing/ School: At her recent end of the year parent teacher conference, Ms. Calla told us Addie LOVES to write. We have known of her passion for drawing and art but she is getting very good at writing as well! She loves to make cards for all her family and friends.
#9: Her Sense Of Humor: This is Blake's favorite at this age. Addie is developing quite the sense of humor and is always trying to make us laugh. She will sit in the back of Blake's car, while he is driving, and be making funny faces or doing a funny dance move patiently waiting for him to look in his rear view mirror. Blake has dozens of funny stories just from her birthday weekend and taking her to her first Spurs game.

#8: Her Closet: This is the special place she goes just to play or when she is sad. Recently I had gotten upset with her while I was cooking dinner for being in the way. Thirty minutes later I found her pouting in her closet and crawled in there to apologize. This is her comfort place and I love it.

#7: Her personality and amazing stage for her behavior: I can't say enough about how much we love Addie's age when it comes to her behavior. This entire year has been spectacular. She knows we mean what we say and she doesn't try to test us.... it has been amazing. Occasionally I have to count to remind her about something but I can't think of the last time she has gotten to three or in trouble. Several times a month, strangers comment on how she is always saying "please" and "thank you," which is something very important to me.

#6: Swimming: There isn't much to say about this one. This is what she asks to be doing all the time. She recently joined the swim team but after one practice, she determined it was physically too hard for how young she is. I am sure she will be ready next summer and in the mean time, she is just having fun!!!
