Wednesday afternoon, Nikki Dillard and I left Scottsdale, after a work meeting and headed 2 hours north to Sedona. We drove directly to Cathedral Rock and started the trail around 4:30 and ended up having the absolutely most amazing sunset hike. We couldn't have had a better night!
That night, after dark, we checked into our hotel - Amara Resort & Spa, which was right in the middle of the town of Sedona. The main reason for our little girls' trip getaway was to do a sunrise hot air balloon over the red rocks but we received a call around 4:30 AM from our hot air balloon pilot saying that there was not enough wind for our sunrise sail. Although we were very disappointed, it gave us the opportunity to instead take a famous Pink Jeep tour to Broken Arrow early that morning.
Then, before I left Nikki to head back to Phoenix for my 7PM flight, we had time for one more picturesque hike of Bell Rock.
It was an absolutely amazing trip!
