Delaney @ 14-17 Months

At 17 months, counter tops and your momma and dada's hips are still your favorite places to be!  You know the sounds for at least 10 animals - pig, duck, frog, cow, horse, lion, bear, sheep, cat, and dog. You continue to LOVE books, they are the last thing you touch before getting into bed and the first word you say and reach for when we get you out of your crib. (This characteristic trait reminds us of Carter at this age.) All summer, you have slept from 7:30PM to a little before 7 with at least a 2 hour nap in the middle of the day. You love shoes and have recently started to always want to wear a specific pair of pink sandals, however, you also love to take them OFF when we aren't looking and have lost 4 different shoes this summer, leaving us with 4 incomplete pairs.

At 16 months, around July 10, 2014, most of your molars broke through that week, or at least that is when we first saw all of them everywhere and thus explained you waking up fussy around 4AM most mornings. We left you overnight (3 nights) for the very first time with Ya-Ya and Diane, when we went to Jamaica, and as nervous as we were to see how you would do with us both being away, you did GREAT! You say "Bubbles" and "la-la-la" is your word for water. You are very specific when you want water vs. milk! You are like a little parrot and just repeatedly repeat "Dada," or "Mama" or "Addie," at all times. You refuse to leave any rubber band or clips in your hair but have been great about keeping hats on while we are at the pool, all summer.

At 15.5 months, on June 29, 2014, you said "No," for the first time. We have to admit, the way you say it is so stinkn' cute! You also confidently started drinking from a regular cup at 15 months and started eating with a spoon. You love to say "haaaaaa" for when you see our cups of coffee or when you see us turn the stove on. (Probably due to your inordinate amount of time spent watching us on the kitchen counter.)

At 14 months, in early May, you were clearly and regularly saying - Mama, Ad-da, Da-Da, Tiger, Bubba, Thank you, Ya-Ya, Diaper, Cheese, Apple.
