The Corona Virus - A Global Pandemic - Our Family's Journal - Week 3 of Quarantine

Week 3 of Our New World: March 28 - April 3, including including Days 15 - 21 of Family Quarantine. Focusing on YaYa and Grandpa & Accepting Their Help, Life Lessons and Blake and I Working Out Every Single Day Before Noon.

It's crazy that on Day 16 of being home, it still feels like a never ending list of things that Blake and I wish we had time for - mainly, simple projects around the house. I have learned to set a goal to do a couple of small projects a day, to feel accomplished - like deep clean the pool toy chest, move landscape rocks from one place to another, start the garden, pick weeds in a certain area, or clean out under my bathroom sink or something like that. Those are the things that, in part, help bring me joy during quarantine, so I made sure to have a couple of day. With work, and overseeing 17 different teacher's assignments, it doesn't leave much time to be alone. It blows my mind, sometime, how after 16 days straight with us, the kids still chose to curl up in bed with us last night when I have given them full access to the game room TV. As frustrated as I could get at that, I seem never to loose my patience in that moment, recognizing how precious and short lived it will be.

Dreaming up the home projects list.
Using our back patio more than ever! This weather has been incredible.
So, so much reading!
We ended the school week strong and were excited about the weekend. I was excited just to let the kids do whatever they want and start chipping away at my personal things I wanted to do. Well, that didn't happen and instead, I took the opportunity to help Carter  create on a Neighborhood Scavenger Hunt. He loves to geocache and we have always loved doing it together, as a family, for years and years. He's always wanted to make his own geocatch but I wasn't open to placing one inside our neighborhood. We had such a fun time doing in and was yet another example of the "good" that Corona has brought us.

On Sunday, we headed to Enchanted Rock, a place we hadn't been to ever, as a family of 5. Blake and I had been together a couple of times and even taken Carter and Addie, when they were younger. It was a gorgeous day. It wasn't too crowded and for 4.5 hours straight, we climbed and hiked. Most of the day, we ventured far off on trails we had never seen and we were the only ones around. I will always remember this last week of March as the week that the new green Spring growth was at the most intense I remember seeing. The different shades of green were so vivid, fresh and lush. The kids were in heaven climbing everything in sight. They loved getting to "cave," and I am so thankful for our time there as the Governor closed down all state parts about a week later.

On Monday afternoon of this week, we moved our quarantine to the lake house for the week until Saturday afternoon. After both us and YaYa and Grandpa did a separate 16 day quarantine, they asked us to come to the lake house. We took them up on their offer of help with the kids while Blake and I got some work done and were able to train each day for our 29029 event in 12 weeks. It was so amazing to have help making 3 meals a day and the kids go go to have multiple real life lessons, a day, including how to catch a rat in a trap, be a landlord and do all kinds of handyman work all over the lots including learning how to work on PVC pipes for irrigation systems, learning to make homemade guacamole and so much more. Carter even studied and took the test and officially got his boating license We are so gratful for this time together, having serious conversations and having so many funny moments this week. It really was a fun week and another "good" of this global pandemic.

Taking work conference calls and brushing hair.

The kids started they Corona Journaling.
