This 5 v 5 Albion tournament 2 years ago in February 2016 is where Addison fell in love with being a goalie in the stressful PK ending. It was fun to make a family trip back to Houston for the first time, since last year's tournament had been rained out. Since Carter had a late basketball Friday evening, we all left early on Saturday morning around 6AM and 6:30 AM in separate cars for the trip to Houston. Blake and Carter would have to return back to San Antonio Saturday afternoon for all day basketball tournament Carter had on Sunday. For the 2 Saturday games, Addison started out in goal both games and they came out with strong victories. She had some great field play in both second halves scoring a couple of goals. The weather was super wet and cold the first day and just plain wet the second day but thankfully none of the games were cancelled. It was a super fun weekend for all the girls and a special one because this is the last time they can participate in the 5 v 5 tournament.
After a fun breakfast in the hotel with everyone, we had a 9AM game. Since they had made it to the finals with the top Houston team, that we would be playing the Sunday afternoon finals, no matter which team won the morning game, they opted to make the 9AM game the finals. It was a tough game and Addison played in goal the entire time and she had an unbelievable game, yet they lost 2-1 in the end.
