It's that time of year again to stop and really reflect on who and what Delaney is all about at 4 years old. Traditionally, we have done that by a "Top 10 List," so drum roll please...
10. You LOVE your micro scooter! Back in November at LLYC family Camp, we saw a young tiny boy zooming all around on it and you received one for Christmas. You love hopping on it and zooming around on it. Considering your cautious personality, we find it quite entertaining to watch you ash around so confidently on your little purple scooter.
9. Swimming - This would have never made your Top 10 list a year ago but after your intense 2 week swim lessons last Fall, you have come to love to swim... especially in the warm hot tub this past Winter and Spring. Just after your 4th birthday, you started Swim Lessons again at Aqua Tots, with your favorite instructor Daniella. You actually look forward to them and ask each day after school, "Is it swim lessons today?"
8. Your blue eyes - Almost every day, a stranger will comment on your beautiful blue eyes.
7. Your sister and brother - Most of the time, you love being with your brother or sister. Whether it's playing Doc McStuffins or singing Karaoke with Addie or reading with Carter... you get along great with your older brother and sister.
6. Eating anything SWEET & NOT wanting to eat anything HEALTHY - If you were to look up sweet tooth in the dictionary, there would be a picture of Delaney! You LOVE sweets and it's a HUGE struggle to get you to eat fruits and vegetables on a regular basis. You would rather go to bed with out eating, than eat a green bean. Dr McCray said this is normal at 4 and it won't be until 6, that you open up to trying new things. Well, we will keep trying!
5. TV or iPads - You love movies or shows. Your favorite thing is YouTube Kids and watching silly shows of kids playing with toys. So strange. You don't really watch TV at home except on the weekends, so your time with electronics is usually at your brother and sister's soccer and basketball games.
4. Tiger & other dogs - Similar to your sister, you LOVE dogs and if we can't find you, you are usually cuddling somewhere with Tiger in her dog bed. You call Tiger your "sister." Anytime we are somewhere and you spot a dog, you are quick to ask to go pet it.
3. Talking, Asking Questions & Writing Your Name - Talking has always been a strength of yours, but right at 4, you have taken it to a whole new level. Just the other day, while you were outside with me as I was cleaning the pool, you were asking questions like, "Why do you like white cheese more than yellow cheese?" and "Do you like leather or plastic for you flip-flops when you are by the pool?" Each morning on the way to school, you LOVE to play "Would You Rather?" with dad. And ever since Christmas, you can't stop writing your name. You absolutely LOVE writing your name. These are just one week's of papers from school that had your name all over them!
2. Being With Mom or Dad - Chances are, after school or in the evenings or on the weekends, you are still by our side. You will find us in the office and beg to just sit on our lap and "type your name," on the computer. You would choose to snuggle with us over anything besides eating ice cream. I know these days are some what limited, so we are enjoying them while we can.
1. Sleeping With "Someone." - You are a snuggler and you LOVE to be by someone while you sleep. It doesn't seem to matter who, although you naturally gravitate towards mommy and daddy's bed. Since we started limiting you coming into our room, you have found that both Addison and Carter will welcome you into their beds in the middle of the night or in the early morning hours. So it is usually a game as to where we will find you! You are sleeping in your bed all night, at least 2-3 nights a week, so Dr. McCray wasn't concerned about your night time migrations all over the house.
