Megan's NEW Lilly Position - Dermatology

In September of 2015, a couple of new sales expansions were announced at Lilly including at brand new first time ever sales division calling on Dermatologists and launching a brand new biologic for plaque psoriasis. After 2 years with Forteo and 7 years of being part-time with Lilly, I knew it was the perfect time to take on this incredibly exciting new opportunity. I interviewed in October and found out I got the position in early November. I  was thankful for my 2 years with Forteo and how many skills I had learned with specialty pharmacies, the in-depth biologic process, working with key biologic coordinators and would be able to use this knowledge in my new role.

So, January 1, 2016, I officially went back to work full-time, one month shy of celebrating my 13th anniversary with Eli Lilly. I am so grateful for that time at 50%, 60% and several years at 80% work schedule and confidently know that it allowed me the best of both worlds while having my 3 children and getting thorough the "baby" years.

I am writing this in December of 2016, and reflecting back on my last 12 months with this new division. It has been filled with lots of ups and downs. I definitely have felt the most happiest from a sales perspective and having Dermatologists as customers has been wonderful. But most of what I will fondly remember 2016 for is having met 2 incredible teammates that had been with Lilly for many years here in Texas, however our paths had never directly crossed. These women have become my rocks. They inspire me as a sales person, always challenging me and giving me more and more ideas on how to get better and better. They have inspired me with their strong communication skills and how they address major issues head-on in a calm and professional manner. I feel like they are sisters and I don't think we go much more than a day or two with out a "1990 style 3-way call." When we aren't on the phone in between calls, we are sending 50-100 texts to one another a day! I couldn't have gotten throng the last year without these girls and they will easily be the STARS of my 2016 professional year! I have learned so much from my Nicki Turnbow and Nikki Dillard!
