Blue Hole Water Hole!

Summer is more than half over and we have had so much fun traveling however there are a few things I have on our local Summer Bucket list to do, close to home! One of them was exploring the natural spring fed waterhole called Blue Hole in Wimberley. The kids had a blast and I think this will be a great place for the kids as they get a little older, too! I am glad I didn't bring Delaney. The water was gorgeous, deep and refreshingly ice cold. The large swing was a little big for them now and the smaller one - a tad short however they lived jumping off the large Cypress Trees. The facility was impeccable and a definite hidden gem in Wimberley.

Carter & Lots of Summer Golf!

After a long break in the Spring of 2015 while Carter concentrated on soccer, Carter has been playing tons of golf! He started our hardcore the second week of July, with a three day in a row, city-wide tournament. It was neat seeing his name in the newspaper for three days!

Then he did a whole week at Dominion summer camp and fine tuned all kinds of things. He said he learned the most around "chipping!" Thanks Ya-Ya and Grandpa for this 6th year of sports camp!

That Sunday, Carter played his first "official" 9-hole division tournament and won first place at Riverside with a score of 37. Delaney was pretty impressed, for sure!

Then, unexpectantidly on Tuesday morning, Carter was asked to play with The Dominion Golf Team after Marshall broke his arm. Carter played up in age bracket with 9-10 year olds and he and his 10 year old partner got 2nd with a 36. They used about 95% of Carter's shots in the scramble and Carter couldn't have any coaching from his caddy or parents. It was an awesome first experience and we are thankful the The Dominion and Julie helped us make it happen that day!

To wrap up his super duper July month of golf, he has two more tournaments! Only at 8 years old would 100 degree South Texas July heat not ever be an issue!

Addie's 7 Year Well Check-Up

With thee children, I am doing good if I get their annual well checkups done before their half birthday....

Today was Addison's big day and she rocked it. Growth, development, eyes and hearing all perfect. The only thing significant I brought up to Her doctor was the speech development issues around "r" and "s" sounds she has had for years and years. Since they say these happen to be the last sounds to fully development, we have been patiently waiting for them to resolve but now that she has very successfully finished 1st grade, her doctor agrees in moving forward on working to get those resolved. Her Aunt Julie has been instrumental in helping me move forward on this. In the last three months, we have noticed other children and people commenting to her about certain words she says and the last thing on Earth we ever want, is for her to be self conscious about speaking.

But we know she is absolutely perfect! She's pretty pumped that so far she has Daddy's good eye sight and not her mom's! She was 47 3/4" tall!!

This Chapter of Our Lives - Winter 2014

This Chapter in life- Winter 2014
I had done something similar last year (I came across this blog post I never posted from last year and it already brought a smile to my face so I can't wait to have memories in twenty years.)

Buddy bucks machine pit-stops after every visit to the grocery store. Getting to park in "with children" front row parking. Chore charts adorning our beautiful kitchen cabinets. Plastic high chairs scratching our dining room chairs. Glass "Behavior jars" with colored rocks displayed on the counter. Remembering daycare snack calendars and school activity notes taped up to help keep us organized. A step stool always close by in the kitchen in case I have helpers that want to help crack eggs. A Lands End Canvas bag kept close and ready to load Delaney's lunch and diapers for the following day at school. Racing home in the middle of day to let the puppy, Tiger, out. Blake I touching base around 3 everyday to gauge how the rest of our afternoons are looking and who is going to get what kids. Living at the YMCA fields during the week and Saturdays. Deciphering an 18 month olds constant new vocabulary. The every memorable week that Addison got lice during a huge school outbreak and it dominated our life for 7 days straight. (Notice the wine in the background of the picture.)

Breckenridge - Day 4: Hiking McCullough Gulch

On Wednesday morning, after YaYa and Grandpa left the evening before, we found McCullough Gulch and had an amazing morning of hiking and finding waterfalls and SNOW! It was Delaney's very first time seeing and touching snow and definitely they one of the best hikes for families and kids.
