Wow... where is your "pause" button? For real... after two rougher years, we have hit your magical age and I just want to stop and enjoy you for a while at this absolutely amazing stage of life. Today, my good friend Cara asked me, "Why... what is it about her at this age that is so different?" After thinking for a second, it boiled down to communication. We can finally communicate effectively with one another and communication makes EVERYTHING better. Wow.... do I love how two years old looks on you! Life has been so much fun with you since your big birthday two weeks ago.
It's everything about you. I can't get enough of your constant talking and sweet voice, how you sprint to me to tell me hello every single morning, how you jump up in my arms when I pick you up from school or anytime I walk into the door at home. You are like a sweet puppy dog so happy to see their owner every single time the door opens. Surprisingly, I even look forward to hearing you yell out for mamma occasionally at 4AM and getting to go grab you and bring you into bed with us for a couple of hours in the early mornings. You instantly go soundly to sleep and hardly move an inch.
This weekend, I took you to Target and had the absolute best time just following you around as you picked out every single Micky Mouse item in the entire store... department by department. At this very impromptu stop, you were wearing your new Minnie Mouse pajamas complete with a huge pink tutu skirt and a Minnie Mouse baseball cap with huge black yarn balls as ears! Dozens of people just gasped at your cuteness and laughed as you handed me dozens and dozens of items that I would carefully try and put back when you weren't looking.
Just a few of the things that make me smile is how you tell me to "buckle up mommy" once we are in the car. You do the same to your daddy. We simply can not believe your incredible strong affection to Mickey Mouse and how you beg to wear your Minnie pajamas to school nearly every single day. You understand why you can't when I tell you that Minnie has to take a bath while you are at school. You melt my heart with your sudden connection with Addison; you want to be with her 24/7 and just imitate every single thing she does. Right now, you are curled up in a blanket with her on the couch. This is just the beginning of a lifetime friendship and bond that you two special girls will always share.
I cannot even believe that I have a blond haired, blue-eyed child. Never in a million years did I think this combination would stick around. You are stunning Delaney and I can just stare at your for hours. Although you still despise anything in your hair, you love wearing hats. You love dressing up and wearing those plastic high heels. You clank all over the house in them as often as your can. Just now, you barged into our bathroom all decked out in your heels, a glittery cheerleading outfit and big hair band.
You are a smart girl too! You love to count to twenty with your brother and you do a great job on your own, only missing a couple. You like to sing your ABCs and love looking for school buses, dogs and airplanes while we ride in the car. You love all books and never turn down going into your room with anyone to read. We joke that you become an angel child the closer it gets to bedtime. You like to climb up in our bed after Carter and Addie have been tucked in bed and say, "What are we watching?" You get so SO excited when daddy says, "golf!" and your lay there incredibly still, hoping that we forget to take your to your bed! You do get a little bossy sounding when you sternly say to us, "lay down," if you want one of us to come sit next to you. You do the same thing often to Tiger.
I love you so very much,
Mommy
