Carter's 5th Grade Strong Violin Solo

Carter was so excited to participate in the district wide 5th grade strings solo competition. He got to select between 2 songs and practice for a couple of months. Then, on Saturday morning, after an early and wet soccer tournament game, we raced across town for him to confidently walk into Wood Middle School and perform on his own in front of a judge he didn't know. He was ecstatic to get the highest rating of a 1 from the judges and a gold medal when he returned to school and strings the following Monday.

The same weekend as he had a very wet and cold soccer tournament!

On March 27, Carter performed with the Tejeda Orchestra at an evening Strings Concert.

Lady Bugs

For Christmas, Delaney got a live Lady Bug set so in late February, we ordered them and "raised" them on our kitchen counter! We then went way over and above and took them with us on a family vacation across 4 states and released them in gorgeous Rosemary Beach, Florida on our last day! You're welcome, our family of sweet lady bugs.

 Delaney carefully watered them every other day and got to take them to school for "Show and Share."

Spring Break: Rosemary Beach (The Magical Town)

Rosemary Beach definitely will always hold a special piece of our hearts. It is this magical and mystical place that kinda feels like it is out of a fictional storybook. It's this gorgeous safe and small community that doesn't feel like you are in the real world. This was our second Spring Break traveling with the Boerckel family, after Palo Duro last year, and it was so much fun and tears were definitely shed as we parted from our week together. Our time together in this picturesque town is something we will think about often and remember with such fondness. The last beach pictures here are from the last evening where we "walked to dinner" along the beach, with the sun setting. Seriously.... how is that even possible in the real world?
