Delaney's FIRST & Addison's LAST "Meet The Teacher"

What a monumental afternoon it was. Soaking in our two "bookends" of Roan Forest, we experienced it as both a new Kindergartner family as well as a seasoned and confident 5th grader family. It was quite fun!

It was wonderful have Addison there to lead Delaney into the school and down the Kinder hall to find her teacher, Mrs. Martin.

Then it was time to move to the 5th grade wing where I was handed my 7th straight year of PTA and other forms to fill out and sign. Addison was probably mirroring my own face. It's an exciting year as Ella and Addison both got the same 5th grade teacher - Mrs. Gutierrez.

Delaney's BIG, BRAVE & EMOTIONAL Jump!

We had the lake house "helipad" top balcony's gate opened for the kids to jump from. Delaney said she wanted to do it and after nearly 30 minutes of standing at the edge and then stepping aside to allow the other kids to jump, Addison spent 20 straight minutes encouraging her in every way possible. Not wanting her to feel pressure, I yelled up to the top and told them not to force her and she will do it in her own time. Nash was up at the top with the kids and according to him, Delaney had given up and started walking back towards the house along the long walkway and got half way down and then just suddenly turned around and ran to the open gate and jumped. We were all beyond proud of her determination and bravery. I happened to still be underneath and caught the big jump on camera. Once she was safely in dad's arms and then out of the water, the emotions were released with tears of relief and joy. I loved seeing Addison talk to her and getting to share in the precious and memorable moment. To celebrate her bravery, it was ice cream time!

Delaney’s Very First Time Water Skiing!

Right after Yaya had skied, Delaney said she wanted to try for the first time! It was such a special moment on YaYa's birthday morning. Addison jumped into high gear wanting to support Delaney. It took auto 3-4 attempts and adjustments in the handle length of the ski training board, but we were amazed how patient and optimistic Delaney remained during it all. She never once got upset or frustrated. She didn't once want to give up. We saw this focus and goal oriented mind-set and she achieved her goal! My favorite is the picture of of Delaney skiing and Addison in the background.
