Magik Theatre Cousin Time!

It was a rare treat having all five cousins together in San Antonio around Thanksgiving time and we took full advantage of it with a trip to see the cutest Magik Theatre production of Junie B. Jones, Jingle Bells, Batman Smells! Then we had a super fun lunch in the park!
Have you noticed that Carter doesn't leave his older cousin, Marshall's side, ever?!?!

Baby Makes 5!

At 25 weeks along, our surprise is out of the bag! A baby boy or girl is coming 3.3.13!!
With nearly five years passed since having a newborn in the house, it's time to sharpen up on how to change a diaper.

Today, My "Baby" Is 4 1/2!

We celebrated with a big trip to IHOP (International House Of Pancakes) of course, since pancakes are Addie's ultimate favorite food! She opted for the the full stack of chocolate chip pancakes covered in whip cream and powdered sugar. Needless to say, she didn't even ask for syrup. Happy "half" birthday sweet girl and yes, now, you can officially say you are "Four-And-A-Half!"
Where is all started, celebrating turning 6 months old!

First Ever Church Choir Performance

The kids had their very first church choir perfomance. I had been anxiously awaiting Carter and Addie's age where they could learn to praise God in such a fun way every week and at the same time get practice performing on a big stage. It turned out to be even better when Megan P and I committed to it together and we were able to have a set "date" every single Wednesday night to catch up. It was an abnormally busy and stressful semester for me so I looked forward to our time together each week. At the end of the semester it was the grand performance and even Aunt Julie, Ya-Ya, Lolli and Cindy came to watch the kids perform!

Our First Rental - The Little Forest Dew Garden Home

Blake and I always had the goal of getting into real estate and when we found out that we were pregnant with Delaney, we decided to take action that Fall and make our dream a reality.

We found an absolutely amazing For Sale By Owner garden home in the much coveted Hidden Forest neighborhood. The home had been been owned and lived in by one owner and she had recently passed way. Her children lived out of town and were anxious to get rid of it, even leaving most of her belongings and furniture to us. The 3 bedroom/2 bath one story home was dated but had great bones. We purchased it for $135K in October 2012 and put $10K into scraping the popcorn ceilings, putting laminate wood down in the dining, living, master bedroom and one of the secondary bedrooms. We repainted every single wall and put it on the market. It was rented within 24 hours. We originally rented it in 2012 for $1495/mo, increased to $1540 mid 2015, again a bump to $1675 in Aug 2016 and to $1740 in Aug 2017. This home has never been vacant in the 4 years we have owned it and the only significant items we have had to replace has been a refrigerator and oven/stove in 2016. In early 2017, we did replace the last room of carpet in the 3rd bedroom to make the house 100% Saltillo tile and laminate wood.
