Bluebonnets

March 18, 2017

Bluebonnets are such a tradition in this house. I still remember Carter sitting in a blue Bumbo chair in April of 2007. This is the 11th year of taking pictures in Bluebonnets and the kids didn't disappoint. We have such a fun time remembering all the fields that we have taken pictures in over the years. I am sure, as adults, they will be pointing out 20 different places around San Antonio telling their own kids how we used to have them sit and take pictures there! Kids ages: Carter:10, Addison: 8.5, Delaney: (just turned 4.)

Our Backyard in the Spring - The Brown Hideout & Garden

Ever since we moved in 10 months ago, we have encouraged the kids to find an area of the yard to make theirs, a place to do whatever they want, a place that encourages creativity and the love to build and make things. This area of tons of small oak tress has served as the perfect spot! This weekend, as part of Addison's New Year's resolutions, we helped her build her garden.

In August, we finally pulled the carrots to enjoy! Thought out the Summer, we have had about a dozen good cucumbers. The garden did good early one in May and June while it was cooler and had regular rain however we figured out we needed to actually remember to water it in July and August, we we wanted it to grow.

Delaney's 1st Trip To Sea World

Carter and Addison won free tickets to Sea World from school and Delaney had a free pre-school pass so it ended up being the perfect Spring day to take everyone to Sea World.

Palo Duro Canyon - Day 5 (Road Trip Home)

We said goodbye to the wonderful Palo Duro Canyon and started  our journey South. We stopped in Lubbock at Prairie Dog Town to see the hundreds of Prairie Dogs. Then it was napping, snacking and reading until we pulled into our bluebonnet filled driveway around 5PM. Overall, a wonderful and easy first road trip!
