In late November, we were blessed to have our own Uncle Sean a.k.a. CBC Pastor Sean Metcalf dedicate both Delaney, Asher and Easton.

Delaney at 8 months!

 - On the day you turned 8 months, you weighed 19 pounds.

- If there were two words to describe what we are going through as your turned 8 months, it would be "teething sucks!!"

- After your two front lowers came in last month, your two upper K9's were very painful coming in around 10/8/13

- This entire month, you still are taking 5 (8oz) bottles a day.

 - You still run your hand through your hair while you take a bottle.

-To be honest, 7-8 months has been a really tough age with you. It's easy to forget the hard time (we are already) but you want to be HELD ALL THE TIME!!! Even now when you can crawl, you start crying instantly when we set you down.

- However you got back to sleeping really well from 7:15PM till after 7AM most days.

 - You really don't like baby food.... we have tried it since you were 4 months old and since then you have only tolerated sweet potatoes, carrots and squash. Everything else including apples, prunes, pears.... you've refuse to eat.

- On Nov 22, after two months of consistent sensitivity and constipation, we decided to try Nutramigen formula to see if it would help. It took a week to get you to drink it but we noticed quickly how much softer your stools were.

- On November 23, you were dedicated by your Uncle Sean at CBC.

- November 24 @ 8.5 months, we noticed your top two front teeth had broken through (that makes 6 teeth!)

 - All month, your favorite thing to do is stand up!

- Nov 24, we noticed over Thanksgiving you will eat anything and everything that is table food... you will spend an hour at the table shoveling soft food into your mouth. Daycare noticed the same thing. So we are done with baby food!

- Half way through this month, we finally had a turn for the better. You seem happier and more content... we think it is the combination of the new formula and eating solids!

- Dec 1, 2013 (a week before turning 9 months,) you are standing up and letting go for 1-2 seconds at a time.

- You went to the doctor for the first time besides wellness checks, this 8th month with coughs (weekend urgent care) - just viral colds both times.

- You babble all the time and have said "Da-Da" but you don't say it on demand yet nor a regular basis. You also say, "A-ba" and we joke that it is you saying "Addie!"

-Your hair is starting to grow all around your head but majority of it is still on top and getting longer!

- Delaney, you are a sweet girl and your daddy and I talk all the time about what your personality will be like in the future. We still don't have a clue. The only thing that we agree on right now is that you don't like to ever be alone or even five feet away from one of us. We are hoping that as you get closer to walking, your independence will set in and you will be excited to explore more than a two foot radius of our feet! ;) But we love you more than you know.

Our Beautiful Delaney - 7.5 months

Delaney at 7 Months!

 - At 7 months, you weighed 19 pounds with clothes on.

- You can never be still, you are still always moving!

 - Just over 7 months, I started weaning you to only nursing in the late afternoon after I picked you up.

- On October 21 (7.5 months) you are officially crawling forward very well.

- On October 29, you pulled to standing all by yourself.

- On November 2 (7.5 months) you started waving at people all the time.

- The week before you turned 8 months, I decided to completely wean you and you started taking 5 bottles (average 7 oz each of soy formula.) You definitely do not like green veggies (green beans or peas.) You cringe at apples, pear and prunes!!!

Great Wolf Lodge

Mid-summer, I realized we hadn't taken any vacations with the kids since having Delaney and decided to give Carter and Addie something to look forward to. I booked a night at the Great Wolf Lodge in Grapevine, Texas and surprised them by showing them pictures and videos of the hotel and water park on-line. I tied it to them having good behavior at school for the first 9 weeks and when those initial progress reports came in, we were ready for The Great Wolf Lodge!

I reserved a "Cabin" where the kids had their own space with bunk beds and even the luxury of a TV... they thought it was so cool.



I had read that you could check in at noon or 1PM and we had full access to the water park until it closed the day you checked out. Honestly, those 2 full days were the perfect amount of time to spend in the water park and definitely made the steep price of the room very reasonable! (We didn't do any of the numerous extra activities they sell focusing on the water park, instead... Blake and I said it felt like a Kids' version of Vegas walking through the bottom floor!) What makes this place unbelievable is there is no other way we could have taken a 7 month old with us on a trip like this unless our room for her to nap in, was a short walk away. Most of the pictures I have were in the toddler area but there were 5-7 much more substantial tube rides that we ALL had a blast riding on together.
